Drank beer for the first time this year (apart from new year’s) and beer, specially hoppy beer, is such a great treat. It could be non-alcoholic beer and it will still be a great treat.

I’ve never used a third-party Twitter client. Not because I don’t want to support them, but more because I don’t have time in my life to assess and learn multiple apps for the same pointless service. Just use the first-party app and hate it.

I also thought that encoding an edited MP4 in iMovie would be a lot faster than it is. Maybe I’m holding it wrong…

I’ve been doing digital conversion of old family videos from VHS and I’ve noticed a few things about my M1 Pro MacBook Pro. Recording in HEVC from OBS Studio, both iMovie and Final Cut Pro can’t handle the output MP4 file. Re-encoding to H.264 is slow with Permute.

I currently have two OG HomePods as my primary TV audio output. They recently started becoming flakey and I have to reboot them every few days. Because of that, I insta-bought 2nd-gen HomePods today. Hopefully they are more reliable.

Middle aged seems to be defined as somewhere from 40 to 60 years old. Those of you that believe that don’t understand what middle means.

The best part of the #m3gan movie is when they mention the robotic toy contains an A17 Bionic chip. The A17 doesn’t exist (yet) so I guess take it while you can.

M3GAN was a surprisingly good movie. The scariest part is how possible it is. More of a sci-fi or AI movie than horror. Three stars. boxd.it

The amount of web sites that don’t offer a way to delete or close your account is too damn high. I’m having to reset passwords on accounts that I no longer want just so Mr. Bad Guy doesn’t get it. Thanks LastPass.

A new calendar year is a good delineation point for almost all things in life. It really doesn’t mean anything, but without it we would all just stay in the same rut. Here’s to hoping I’ll steer out of my rut in 2023.

The movie Click starring Adam Sandler takes place in 2023. Can’t wait to buy one of those remotes at Bed Bath and Beyond soon!

I made a list of my 9 favorite things in my best of 2022 post! dub.bz/best22

Just watched Everything Everywhere All at Once for the first time. I’m going to be thinking this one through over and over again for a while aren’t I?

My entry for #coxmas

Christmas movies have taught us that Christmas should be very cold outside and have snow on the ground. Well this year we’re living it. It’s not often that in my part of the world Christmas looks like it does on the big screen.

I’ll never forgot this moment in one of my first tech school classes: the teacher was explaining terminators and every time he said the word, a friend of mine would quietly utter “Sarah Conner” in a over emphasized Arnold voice. As expected the teacher eventually had enough.

Moving my small homelab rack downstairs to the garage is proving to be more challenging than I had thought. I had a yell-out-loud moment of frustration with myself trying to terminate a cat6 cable.

Recently I crossed the 2,000 film rating mark on #letterboxd and wrote a blog post about it with my top 10 movies right now. Read the blog post: blog.benbeard.com/movie-rat… My Letterboxd ratings: dub.bz/films

I haven’t stopped using RSS when everyone relied on Twitter for their interests. Now people are coming back to RSS. I love having the stuff I care about delivered to me. Btw, I’m an avid user of NewsExplorer on all Apple platforms and I love it.

What is it about not having to wake up early, that makes me not able to sleep in?
